Craft Tutor

As Richmond Council’s first community tutor, Cornelia has taught a variety of crafts like sewing, knitting, felting and much more.

Her passion for sharing her skills took her to primary schools where she initiated a craft club called “Make and Create”. Through this craft club, together with a fellow artisan and friend, they have introduced the art and the benefits of making craft to children from ages 5-11.

Cornelia is passionate about sharing her experience in the industry and would like to mentor more people.

She created a mentoring programme called "Train the Tutor" which was supported by a large local charity. The programme included mentoring and skill training for 6 months, and helped 3 women to become craft tutors.

The programme was run by Cornelia as Craft Mentor with the support of the local charity as sponsor.

Fair organiser

In 2014 Cornelia and Ham library initiated a programme to promote the local artisans by organizing craft fairs and a weekly Mend Do and Mend session. The programme has been really successful....
